Help
  • How do I connect my Google Analytics (GA4) account to Swydo?

From your client page in Swydo, open the Data Sources tab and click New Data Source, then choose Google Analytics (GA4). For most platforms you’ll authorize via OAuth; a few (Klaviyo, CallRail, Call Tracking Metrics, ActiveCampaign) use an API key instead. Once authorized, pick the specific account, property, or page you want to report on. Each one becomes a data source you can drop into any report.

  • Can I combine Google Analytics (GA4) data with other platforms in one report?

Yes. Every Swydo report supports widgets and KPIs from multiple data sources side by side, so a single report can pull from Google Analytics (GA4), Google Ads, GA4, Meta, and more. For paid-media platforms you can also blend up to five sources inside a single widget — useful for cross-channel ROAS, total spend, or unified conversion tables. Custom blended widgets aren’t available for non-ad platforms, but reports themselves can mix anything.

  • Is my Google Analytics (GA4) data secure in Swydo?

Yes. Swydo connects via OAuth or scoped API keys, encrypts data in transit over HTTPS, and stores access tokens with role-based controls. Swydo is GDPR-compliant and acts as a data sub-processor under a standard DPA. You can revoke any connection at any time, and on account closure all data and credentials are deleted within 90 days. Full details live on Swydo’s privacy and data-storage pages.

  • What does Swydo cost, and is there a free trial?

Swydo offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Pricing is based on the number of data sources, not on users (seats are unlimited) or report volume. The flat plan includes 10 data sources, with a per-source rate beyond that which decreases as you scale. Frequency of reporting doesn’t affect cost. Use the calculator at swydo.com/pricing for an exact quote.

  • How do I roll up multiple GA4 properties for a multi-brand or multi-domain client?

Add each GA4 property as a separate data source on the client, then drop multiple property widgets into one report — or use a single combined section grouped by property. For aggregated totals (sessions, conversions, revenue across all properties), build manual KPIs that sum the values, or use a custom metric inside each widget. Swydo doesn’t merge GA4 properties at the API level (Google itself doesn’t), but the report-level roll-up gives clients one clean view.

  • Can I compare different GA4 attribution models in one report?

Yes. GA4 exposes data-driven, last-click, and other attribution models via its API. In Swydo, build a side-by-side widget showing conversions or revenue under each model — useful for clients deciding which model to optimize against. Pair this with a Google Ads conversion widget to highlight where Google Ads’ click-based attribution diverges from GA4’s modeled attribution. Add a text widget explaining each model so clients don’t have to ask.

  • How does Swydo handle GA4's data retention and event-scoped limits?

Swydo pulls live from the GA4 API, so historical reach is bounded by your GA4 retention setting (default 2 months, configurable up to 14 months for free, longer for GA4 360). For longer historical comparisons, set GA4 retention to 14 months in Admin → Data Retention before relying on year-over-year reports. Swydo doesn’t store GA4 raw data on your behalf, so retention is fully controlled by your GA4 configuration.

  • Why does GA4 report different revenue than Shopify, Klaviyo, or my ad platforms?

GA4 attributes revenue to the last non-direct click by default, while Shopify counts every order regardless of source and Klaviyo counts revenue attributed to email touches. None of them are wrong — they’re answering different questions. Swydo lets you put all three side by side in one report, with a text widget explaining the methodology gap. Some agencies build a “source of truth” reconciliation widget that flags the spread between platforms.

  • Can I report on custom GA4 events and parameters without using BigQuery?

Yes. Swydo pulls GA4 custom events, custom dimensions, and custom metrics through the standard GA4 API — no BigQuery required. Add the custom event as a metric or filter in any GA4 widget, group by custom dimension, and reuse the configuration via a report template. For genuinely complex event modeling (joins across event tables, user-level analysis), BigQuery is still the right tool, but most agency reporting needs are handled directly.

  • Does Swydo support GA4 audiences, segments, and comparisons?

Yes for audiences exposed through the GA4 Data API. Build widgets filtered by an audience (e.g., “Engaged users from paid social”) and compare audiences side by side using multiple widgets in one section. GA4’s API doesn’t expose every UI segment as cleanly as the Explore reports, so a few advanced segment definitions may need to be rebuilt as custom dimensions in GA4 first. Most agency use cases work out of the box.
